On 14.08.2023, our organization SC PsihoForWorld, was the host of a local event within the TOY Zone project, an event attended by parents of children with disabilities and specialists in the field of psychology.
Psychopedagogical teachers from the School Center for Inclusive Education Braila were also invited to participate in this event.
The purpose of this event is to popularize the project at the level of the local community and to contribute to the social integration of children with disabilities.
The main objectives were:
- creating a communication network between parents of children with disabilities and specialists;
- highlighting the importance of introducing children with disabilities into a therapeutic-recuperative program;
- familiarizing parents with working methods and techniques, so that we create the opportunity for them to continue the therapeutic activity including in the family environment;
- depending on the type of deficiency and the needs of the child, parents learned how to select the most suitable toys, as stimuli in the harmonious development of their own children;
Conclusions:
18 beneficiaries participated in the activity, respectively parents of children with disabilities and specialists in the field. The duration of the activity was 3 hours, so that the parents had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with theoretical and practical aspects of what represents the most suitable therapies according to the type of deficiency that their child presents.
Also, by means of feedback questionnaires, we collected the opinions/impressions of the beneficiaries as a reference for the next planned meeting.
